Implants at North Houston Dentistry
Dental implants are now considered the standard when it comes to the best option for replacing missing teeth. At North Houston Dentistry, we’re proud to offer comprehensive implant therapy right here in our practice.
Getting implants is easier and more comfortable than what most people realize! In fact, the entire implant surgery only requires a small amount of local anesthetic. Most people say that it’s easier than having a tooth removed.
What are Implants?
Implants are biocompatible restorations that we set into your jaw, near the location of your missing tooth. Their surface triggers a process called “osseointegration,” which permanently fuses the implant into your mouth. Ultimately, the implant mimics the function of a natural tooth root. We can top them off with single or multiple-tooth restorations such as crowns, bridges, or dentures.
Dental Implant Advantages
Modern North Houston dental implants have a large number of advantages over conventional tooth replacement treatments. Here are just a few:
- Longest-lasting restoration
- Highest success rate
- Non-invasive to adjacent teeth
- Ideal for any number of missing teeth
- Easy to care for
- Are stronger than natural teeth
Properly cared for implants can last for a lifetime. They offer the best return on investment of any tooth replacement treatment in Houston.
An Option for Everyone
One of the unique advantages of dental implants is that we can use them to replace any single tooth or all of your teeth at once. Their integrity makes it so that we don’t need an individual implant for each tooth that’s missing. Rather, they can be used in pairs to anchor longer permanent restorations.
Single Teeth — An individual dental implant functions like a natural tooth root. When it’s set into your mouth, Dr. Bastani can top it off with an abutment and single crown, giving you a new “tooth” that blends in with the rest of your smile. Your implant and crown function and looks like the natural teeth around it.
A Few Teeth — In the past, having a few missing teeth meant getting a partial denture. But today, we can use two implants to support a 3-4 unit dental bridge to permanently restore wider areas inside of your mouth.
All of Your Teeth — An “All on 4” implant treatment is a hybrid denture-bridge restoration that replaces all of your upper or lower teeth at one time. Instead of needing an individual implant for each tooth that’s missing, four strategically-placed implants will support the multi-tooth prosthesis.
Are Implants Right for You?
Before getting implants in Houston, Dr. Bastani will need to evaluate your oral anatomy and supporting bone structure. A brief exam and a few X-rays are usually all that’s needed. When we have all of the information available, we can let you know if you qualify for implants or if another treatment is better.
Most major PPO insurance plans will cover implant or implant-related treatments. But North Houston Dentistry also offers flexible payments plans to supplement or replace insurance coverage on your implant procedure. Call today for a consultation and no-pressure quote!
